Mark White was supposed to be the next big thing on the wrestling circuit. He trained and practiced daily, did everything he could to one day achieve his goal of stardom in the squared circle, however, his hopes were dashed when a drug test found him positive of steroids. Banned from wrestling, he began to drink heavily and constantly picked fights at bars. One such fight led to a street brawl where he came out the victor against a gang of seven. Suddenly, a limo came up next to him and right then and there offered him a job as hired muscle for none other than the wealthy but mad Marius J. Crawford([link]). Crawford noted that White had the potential for growth and soon trained him in the secret arts of the Animus, the inner power of all beings. After completion of a major step in his training, Crawford decided it was time to see what White was capable of and set the wheels in motion for a fight between White and Crawford's adversary Inspector Nills([link]). If Nills could not defeat White, then he is not fit to be Crawford's ultimate opponent in his arena.

In order for White to be able to use his wresting techniques against armed opponents, Crawford trained him in the use of the ancient Riptide Shield. With it, he can withstand a barrage of bullets and weapon strikes, then get close enough to use any grappling technique he sees fit. The shield also makes for a nasty right punch.
